Heavenly + Would-be-goods (w/Andy Warren) – Coventry
Heavenly are an indie pop band who released four critically acclaimed albums between 1991-1996, becoming key figures in the independent music scenes of both the UK and US through their associations with seminal labels Sarah Records and K Records. Highly influential on what has become known as “twee pop”, they inspired generations of musicians with their perfect blend of punk energy and pop sensibility. Reforming in 2023 after a 27 year hiatus, this event celebrates the launch of their fifth album.
The Would-be-goods are in support, with their own new album ‘Tears Before Bedtime’. Jessica Griffin, enigmatic star of 80s cult label él, is at the helm, with guitarist Peter Momtchiloff (Talulah Gosh, Heavenly), Debbie Green, drummer and darling of the London nineties garage scene (Headcoatees), and Andy Warren, legendary bassist of Adam and the Ants and The Monochrome Set.
