Spanks to everyone who took part in May’s monthly member survey on the topic of physical (you’re so) magazine consumption...
Two thirds of respondents purchase physical magazines at least a few times a year, with a third admitting that they rarely or never find themselves wandering into WHSmith’s these days (no surprise there, to be fair…).
Of the handful of music titles remaining on the shelves, the most popular with Antpeople is Vive Le Rock, followed by Record Collector in 2nd place and Mojo just behind in 3rd. Other titles suggested by respondents were broad and included Classic Rock and Viz (!).

Regarding actual written content you prefer to read, Interviews/profile pieces came top for almost two thirds of respondents, followed by News (11%). Readers’ letters/surveys received no love at all, so that’s this section screwed …ha!
BUT BUT BUT as per previous surveys, you guys made good with the Ant Lib content suggestions. All angles of Antdom requested: everything from early Antz through to Adam solo, fans, gigs, song analysis, missing tracks and even what’s happening now in the world of AA/AATA and AI. Lots of brilliant ideas to keep me out of trouble with for the next few years – thank you ❤︎
Congratulations to DAVID POWELL of Birmingham, UK who receives the prize bundle of the new Flexipop book + A.N.T.S flexidisc from Vive Le Rock, plus a copy of their now sold out Adam Ant cover/interview edition from June 2025.

Back to the Ant Lib Archives for this month’s sneak peek as our 2004 interview transcript with Antz drummer Dave Barbe makes a return to Ant Lib Online.

There’s the addition of a few previously unpublished (sadly not the Ants era) photos added from the vaults donated to us by Dave who, of course, joined the Ants this week in 1977.
