last month’s RESULTS
Spanks to everyone who took part in June’s monthly member survey on the topic of ant merch...
7 out of 10 Antpeople who responded to last month’s survey are active merchmeisters with just 8% saying they rarely collect, and 1 in 5 telling us that their stall bothering days are numbered. Our forthcoming biannual big Adam & the Ants survey will drill down into annual expenditure trends.
In the meantime, Top of the Popswag you love to swipe are t-shirts/clothing (4 out of 5 respondents), closely followed by badges/patches (three quarters of the Ant merch buying population) – which is curious seeing as Planet Ant hasn’t released a badger (eh?! -ed) for at least ten years, so I’m going to assume you’re getting these second hand or via indie retailers.

Next up, I wanted to measure audience satisfaction with merch provided by both Ant Lib (in a time gone by) and Planet Ant’s offerings. 15% of Antpeople who purchased official merch in the past 10 years were disappointed – 1-2 people out of every 10 sale. Putting our consumer group hat on, this warrants further investigation. If you have any further comments (good/bad) relating to current official merch services then please contact us via the email at the bottom of this page (or reply to your member update email). We received one dissatisfied with Ant Lib merch response, then on closer inspection they had NOT purchased anything from us…so I can only assume you are dissatisfied with the lack of Ant Lib shop at the moment 😜
Which brings us nicely to your suggestions, which always make me smile. Some amazing ideas for Ant lib merch: t-shirts top of the list (I’m currently looking into bringing back our old/original designs in a way that means I’m not adding even MORE boxes to trip over at Ant Lib HQ), jewelry (this was quite a rabbit hole I went down last week but could be a new hobby once the book is out of the way!) and some rather intriguing calendar suggestions. If I’d pulled my finger out last year we’d have a 1981 2026 day-by-day calendar but life got in the way… but stay tuned as we navigate (i.e. avoid) the copyright police! ❤︎

MARCO’s big bookie wookie is published 10th September, and your favourite Adam & the Ants community outpost has the full scoop on what to look out for in the coming months…

Available in hard back, kindle and limited edition signed edition on publication date, Marco is also recording an audio version next month.
Look out for interviews/features in Vive Le Rock, Classic Pop and Uncut magazines plus various pod and radio interviews to support the release. Four personal appearances are in the diary including Rebellion and Louder Than Words festivals plus a special 100 Club 50 Years of Punk celebration and the book launch event itself on 10th September in Soho.
Marco is currently firming up more promo events and it looks like he’ll be hopping over the English channel, so stay tuned to our socials (particularly Instagram & Facebook stories) for announcements.
See our Marco book page for all the latest! >
Publishers New Modern have kindly provided Ant Lib HQ with a draft, so look out for our full preview/review once the embargo is lifted!
